ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND - May 19, 2011 — Marport Deep Sea Technologies Inc., is pleased to announce that for the second year in a row, Karl Kenny, Marport’s President and CEO, was named one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business magazine.
The intention of the award is to give Atlantic Canada's most accomplished business leaders recognition and use their example to inspire other business leaders to achieve similar success. The awards ceremony took place last night at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Over 700 people joined the magazine in its 13th annual salute to Atlantic Canadian corporate leadership excellence.
"It’s a true honour to be recognized alongside Atlantic Canada's best business leaders. I consider this award to be recognition of the entire Marport organization and our leadership position in advanced sonar technology. We believe our focus on innovation will lead to even greater success for the company in the future," said Mr. Kenny.
Marport was also recognized for having the fastest revenue growth among the winning companies.
Top 50 CEOs must be the CEO of a company or organization whose head office is located in Atlantic Canada. Nominees are judged on proven managerial ability, reaction to challenging situations, leadership philosophies, growth over a three-year period and commitment to industry and community development.
